Want healthy, glowing skin? Or lustrous hair that catches the light? Using olive oil as a base for your skin and hair care regime can be a great way to achieve this, without spending a lot of money on beauty products.
Try these great tips for getting your skin and hair in glowing condition, and as a conditioning treatment after the harsh winter months:
- 1 Tablespoon of Botticelli EVOO
- 2 Tablespoons honey
Put honey in a bowl and microwave for 15 second to get it warm. Add Botticelli EVOO and mix well.
Apply to clean skin for about 5-7 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and then apply typical moisturizer.
Before you shower, pour about ½-1 Tablespoon of Botticelli EVOO into your palm, then rub your hands together – making sure to saturate your fingertips. Work the oil into your hair and thoroughly massage your scalp with it.*
Pour another ½ Tablespoon into palms and just apply to the ends of your hair, which are the driest. Let it soak for about 5-10 minutes.
Shower as usual, and shampoo your hair with a nourishing, conditioning shampoo (NOTE: you may want to shampoo 2x times to get hair fully cleaned). For added conditioning after you shampoo, add a few drops of EVOO to your conditioner and work just into the ends of your hair. Let it sit for another few minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
* You can also add a hint of peppermint or lavender oil to create a wonderful, relaxing aroma while you wait! (for an added bonus, see if your friend / spouse / partner will rub it in for you – for a great scalp massage!)
