Cooking Instructions: Heat sauce gently in a saucepan over medium-high heat for a few minutes. Pour over your favorite pasta.
Creamy Polenta with Pasta Sauce
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup Botticelli Traditional Pasta Sauce
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup coarse-grind cornmeal
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, plus more for garnish
- salt to taste
- fresh parsley, for garnish
PREPARATION
In a large saucepan over medium high heat, bring the water and milk to a boil.
Add in the salt and gradually sprinkle the polenta into the pan. Make sure to whisk the entire time to avoid any clumps.
Reduce to low heat, and simmer, cover and cook for 25-35 minutes or until thick. Stir the polenta every 10 minutes.
In a small saucepan, heat the sauce for a few minutes to reduce, stirring occasionally.
Once polenta is done, remove from heat, stir in the butter and parmesan cheese.
In a rimmed dish, spoon the polenta to create a base and top with the traditional pasta sauce. Garnish with grated parmesan and parsley, serve and enjoy!
TIP: To make this meal vegan friendly, swap the whole milk and butter for full fat coconut milk and then stir in vegan parmesan cheese.
