“I haven’t enjoyed pasta in years. After finding Botticelli’s sauces, I can’t get enough. This recipe came to me one day when I was curious how sausage and sauce would taste together. I haven’t looked back – I make this dish once a week now!”
INGREDIENTS
- 3 tbsp Botticelli Cooking Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 whole garlic head, cloves sliced
- 1 large white onion, diced
- 2 lbs hot Italian sausage
- 1 Jar Botticelli Spicy Vodka
- Pinch of Red pepper flakes
- 2 lb penne pasta
- Freshly grated parmesan, for garnish
- Fresh garlic bread
PREPARATION
- In a large pot over medium-low heat, add the extra virgin olive oil, onion, red pepper flakes, and garlic. Sauté for 4-5 minutes or until fragrant and translucent.
- Add the sausage break up into small pieces. Cook until browned.
- Pour sauce into pot and stir to combine. Add a splash of water to the jar, shake, and pour into the pot.
- Cook for 45 minutes on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally.
- While the sauce cooks, prepare your pasta. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Pour your penne pasta and cook to your preferred tenderness.
- Once your sauce has cooked down, its ready to serve. Pour your pasta on a serving plate and pour the sauce over the top.
- Garnish with parmesan, and serve with garlic bread.
