Margherita Pizza

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 jar Botticelli Margherita Pizza Sauce
  • 1 lb Pizza dough, homemade or store-bought
  • 8 oz. fresh mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
  • Cornmeal
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
  • Botticelli Finishing Extra Virgin Olive Oil

PREPARATION:

  1. If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven and preheat to 450F. Let the stone heat for 10 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle a thin layer of cornmeal across your surface. Spread your pizza dough out in a circle. The ladle the Margherita Pizza Sauce onto the dough and spread evenly across. Add the mozzarella slices to cover as much of the pizza as you’d like.
  3. Place your pizza on the hot stone and let cook until the bottom forms a nice crust, and the cheese starts to bubble.
  4. Remove from the oven when done and let sit for 5 minutes. Top with fresh basil and drizzle with Finishing Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

TIP:

If you don’t have a pizza stone, a baking pan is perfect! Sprinkle the pan with cornmeal and spread the dough to fit the pan. Place in the oven and let cook until the bottom forms a crust.
