Perfect for your next Halloween party!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. active dry yeast
- 1 tbsp. Botticelli Baking Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 ½ - 3 cups 00 flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ jar Botticelli Hot Honey Pizza Sauce
- 1 sliced fresh mozzarella log
- Additional desired toppings, such as pineapple, pepperoni, jalapenos, etc.
- Honey to drizzle
PREPARATION
For the dough, combine warm water, yeast and sugar in a large mixing bowl and stir to combine. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes, or until it becomes frothy and bubbles form. Gently stir in olive oil.
Add 2 ½ cups of flour and salt and mix with a wooden spoon until a ball begins to form (or on low in a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment). Add up to another ½ cup flour as needed to form a dough ball.
Transfer to a floured surface and knead into a smooth dough. Cover the bowl with a damp tea towel and let it rise for 10 minutes or up to 1 hour.
Divide dough in half for two thin crust pizzas or use the entire dough for one deep dish.
Toss the dough out to the desired size and place on a pizza pan or peel.
Spread on the sauce. Using a small ghost cookie cutter, cut out the fresh mozzarella and set aside. Top the pizza with desired toppings, leaving the fresh mozzarella off.
Bake at 500F for 8 minutes, then remove from the oven and arrange the ghost cheese slices on the pizza. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 2-4 minutes or until the cheese begins to melt and the crust has browned.
Brush the crust with olive oil, drizzle with honey and enjoy!
