Cooking Instructions: Heat sauce gently in a saucepan over medium-high heat for four minutes. Pour over your favorite pasta.
Sausage and Peppers
Feeds 4-6 People
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb. Italian sausage links, sweet, hot, or combination
- 2 tbsp. Botticelli Frying Olive Oil
- 1 jar Botticelli Grilled Pepper Pasta Sauce
- 1 large onion, chopped
- fresh parsley for garnish
PREPARATION
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tbsp. of olive oil. Once heated, add the whole sausage links and brown on all sides. Continue cooking for about 10-12 minutes or until cooked through. Remove sausages and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining tbsp of olive oil and chopped onion. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes or until they have softened. Add the Grilled Pepper sauce and stir to combine. Cook for 5 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
Slice the cooked sausages into bite size pieces. Add them to the skillet and stir to combine.
Reduce heat to low and let the sausage and sauce simmer in the skillet for 5-10 minutes to let the sauce thicken slightly.
One the sauce has thickened to your liking, remove from hear and garnish with fresh parsley.
Serve and enjoy on it's own or paired with mashed potatoes, your favorite pasta, or even add it to a hero!
