Pressed Italian Picnic Sandwiches


INGREDIENTS:

PREPARATION:

  1. Slice off the top ¼ of the loaf and down one side, leaving most of the loaf together. Hollow out the inside and then slather the bread with creamy tomato pesto.
  2. Layer on the 3 slices of salami, 2 slices of ham, roasted red peppers, fresh basil and 3 slices of provolone. Repeat with the remaining ingredients. Close up the sandwich and wrap tightly in plastic wrap then foil. Weigh it down with a cast iron skillet and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Unwrap the sandwich, slice and enjoy!
